Publishing Pathways Workshop by Demi Anter and Ceri Savage (Savage Edits)

Publishing Pathways Workshop with Demi Anter & Ceri Savage (Savage Edits)

An online seminar with writer Demi Anter and Ceri Savage (Savage Edits) for Women* Writing Berlin Lab e.V..

ONLINE

In this 3-hour online seminar, writer Demi Anter and self-publishing expert Ceri Savage of Savage Edits share their collective publishing experience, covering traditional pathways and self-publishing for poets, writers of literary fiction, genre fiction, and more.

Demi and Ceri will share lessons learned from their publishing careers: Demi's debut poetry collection, Small Machine, came out in April 2022 with Write Bloody UK, and was shortlisted for the Poetry Book Awards after a successful international tour. With her company Savage Edits, Ceri guides authors through every step of the self-publishing process.

This session will also cover how to approach publishers with your book idea, marketing for authors, and where the industry is going next. Demi and Ceri will lead some fun, short exercises to help participants brainstorm next steps in their publishing journeys.

What will I learn?

Attendees can expect practical advice and tools, and answers to questions like: "How do I decide between traditional and self-publishing routes for my book?" "How do I find the right publisher for me?" and "How much can writers earn from various modes of publishing?"

Who is the workshop for?

This seminar is recommended for authors with yet-to-be-published manuscripts and for early-career writers seeking guidance as they plan toward a book-length work.

Workshop will be in English with translations available upon request. B1/B2 level English comprehension is recommended.

Please share questions ahead of the event using the form when you sign up on Eventbrite, and bring any additional questions to the session. We look forward to answering them!

About the Publication

Political, personal, spiritual,

Too much, too little, in the wrong places, in all  directions…

Big, curly, none, grey…

Cover it, show it off, cut it down, tame it…

Afro’s to head covers to cancer recovery.

Unkempt, untamed, wild, wrong, luscious to lissotrichous, our relationship to hair  is complex, cultural, political, triggering, traumatising, empowering, and revolutionary.  The horrors and healing of our relationship to hair are ongoing and complex. Our relationship to our hair is just that: ours. And this publication seeks to remind us that no one tells us otherwise.
