CV & Cover Letter Writing Workshop by Allia Sadeghipour

CV & Cover Letter Writing Workshop by Allia Sadeghipour

A workshop by WWBL President, Producer, Performer, Artist & educator Allia Sadeghipour

ONLINE

New Year, New You, Same Old Glass Ceiling. While Covid still lingers, many of us are left wondering if this is truly what we want but are restricted by financial limitations and responsibilities. Some of us have hopes of navigating a new job market, but have no idea what to look for, what current employers are searching for, or what the hell SCRUM means?! Some of us don’t know how to update our resumes for the CV market, let alone understand the M/W/D next to each German job posting. Whereas the American job postings and CVs prefer total anonymity, the German market requires all of your information up front. Let’s be honest, the world needs to change and we want to change too, but we need financial support to do it.

In this 4 hour workshop, attendees will write their way into the careers they want by analyzing the German and American job markets, CV’s, cover letters, and utilizing the course materials to write job application materials (CV’s, outreach emails, cover letters, etc.) with the guidance of the workshop leader. There will be ample time for participants to draft their CV’s and cover letters during the workshop. After each workshop, the attendees will have a better understanding of each topic and be able to draft their own outreach email/CV/cover letter.

What will I learn?

  • How to search for a job

  • How to analyze German/American job markets & posting

  • How to write outreach/networking requests

  • How to write, construct, and design a CV

  • How to write cover letters
