Poetry: Moonlight Scars

Installment V of Through a Prism

By: Amelia Zora Willow

She longed to bask in the moonlight

hoping that it would make even her scars beautiful

the scars on her body didn’t bother her so much it was the scars lurking deeper she cared about

besides there was nothing more enchanting than dancing

with the shadow of the moon trying to catch

its reflection in the ocean waves
